What would you do with a church full of women shouting at you that celibacy is categorically impossible? Their culture additionally teaches them that the theoretical person who maintained celibacy would fall ill as a result, and would be unable to urinate. I found myself in this situation on Saturday in a town 50 miles away, and here’s how I responded: I used my life as proof that it is both possible and harmless for singles to obey the Biblical directives regarding sexuality. I also soberly warned them of the danger of flippantly disregarding the commandments of a just, holy, powerful God simply because we deem them impossible to fulfill. Please pray that my service in Christ’s name would be effective through the working of His Holy Spirit.
