Since February, when the local Religious Affairs department of the government decided to hold its first Provincial Religious Conference, I have been a member of the event’s organizing committee. This has entailed many trips downtown for lengthy meetings. Though I often felt I didn’t contribute much to the discussion, I learned a great deal about the culture, religious groups, the government, and the city, thoroughly enjoying the experience.
The conference took place last Thursday, with approximately 1,000 people in attendance. It was an impressive event in which government officials and religious leaders spoke on the role of religion in maintaining peace and security in our society. I was the official secretary, typing notes on the lectures and proceedings throughout the day.
Through this project, I have developed meaningful relationships with various government officials and religious leaders. These connections are already opening doors for ministry, and I look forward to seeing how God will use them in the future. Please pray.
