After 17 weeks of worshiping online via audio recordings, our African church resumed in-person services in August.  There are plenty of novelties, to be sure:  an outdoor space, temperature checks and disinfection upon entering, mandatory mask-wearing, chairs spaced apart, no choir, and a shortened one-hour format.  But what a joy it is to be together again, singing praise to our Lord and feeding on His word!  We even celebrated the Lord’s supper and four baptisms last Sunday.  And — shhh, don’t tell — a few hugs may or may not have been sneaked behind the watchful eyes of ushers tasked with implementing the distancing restrictions under which we are allowed to meet again.  Please pray that our congregation will continue to build up one another’s faith despite the limitations we face.
