So far, God has marvelously sustained me through seven weeks of teaching seven hours a day, five days a week. My stomach and my throat still give me occasional trouble, but overall my health and stamina have been good. I am excited to see the progress my students are making, as I pause for reflection one-third of the way through our class.
On the weekends, my students have taken me to several nearby tourist attractions and scenic areas. One time we all squeezed into a vehicle like the one pictured below for an outing to the expansive park pictured afterward, where we enjoyed a relaxing picnic. Another day, we walked up hundreds of steps to a magnificent pagoda that offered a great view of the city from above. On a different occasion, we rode motorcycles to a strawberry patch nestled at the foot of majestic mountains. I’m grateful for these opportunities to see the beauty of the surrounding area.
This weekend is my biggest adventure yet: I’m riding the bus to a city several hours away, in order to visit friends there. I would appreciate prayers for safe travel, a relaxing change of pace, and refreshing fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you!
