A couple of months ago we brought on a new staff member, Adrian Gillum, to serve as our Church Administrator. I’m a bit late in introducing her to you, but still it’s a great way to start the New Year! You won’t see Adrian on Sundays as she will be worshipping with her family, but her handiwork will be in the background as she prepares our bulletins and handles various other administrative tasks for us each week. We are very excited to have Adrian as part of our team, and hopefully you’ll get to meet her at an upcoming Crawfish Boil or other church event. So, without further ado, meet Adrian Gillum!

I grew up in Fort Worth, Texas (which really is better than Dallas). After attending Dallas Baptist University, I began my M.A. at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I met a cute guy named Matt at a friend’s birthday party one night, and the rest is history! After he graduated with his MDiv from SWBTS, we moved to Austin in May of 2012 so he could begin working at Austin Baptist Church. Matt was the Minister to Students for 7 years at ABC, and is now the Executive Pastor. We have 3 beautiful (and busy!) children, Kate-11, Claire-7, and Tag-2.5. My hobbies include: singing in our church choir and worship band, watching lots of movies and funny shows with my husband, learning new board games, meeting and petting all the dogs I possibly can, and spending time with our family and friends. I heard about the communications position at Emmanuel from Wendy Lambert. Wendy and I served together at Naumann Elementary on the PTA Board and we were both members of the Moms in Prayer group there. (Wendy is our Bookkeeper. You may have met Wendy at a Crawfish boil in the past) I have always enjoyed graphic design, editing, and ministry, so I thought the job would be a great fit.

I am so thankful to be a part of this wonderful church’s team and I want to do all I can to support Emmanuel to continue to share the Gospel of Christ with the community!
