Dear Church Family,
We are going to try something new this week, that I think may be very helpful for those of you uncomfortable with worshipping in the gym. Instead of offering drive-in worship with communion served in your car, we are going to set up a live stream service on the deck behind the gym. Last Sunday we concluded our service with the Ordination of our Elders Dan Dunn and Doug Hancock and the commissioning of our Deaconess Gail Shaff on this deck behind the gym. After that, we all enjoyed a wonderful picnic in the shade on that deck. It was very comfortable and pleasant on the deck.
This week we are going to offer our worship service indoors for those that wear masks, and live stream that service outdoors to the deck where masks will be optional and fresh air will provide an extra level of protection for those that are at risk. We will set up a computer, video projector, screen, and speaker so that folks can participate in the worship service. Then when it is time for communion I will bring communion out to the deck for those that are present. It is our hope that we can provide a safe and comfortable environment for more of you by offering this outdoor option.
To get to the deck you can go around the left side of the gym from the front door. Then go up the wooden ramp, turn right, and go between the two classroom buildings. The deck will be right in front of you. Alternately, you can drive around the other side of the building and park behind the playground.
We will continue to offer our regular indoor service in the gym with physical distancing and masks required for those that are comfortable with that arrangement. That service will also continue to be live streamed over our YouTube channel for those of you worshipping from home. But don’t forget, we will also be resuming our nursery service with a new COVID protocol this Sunday, Oct. 25 as well.
The weather looks good for this weekend, and we anticipate a very pleasant outdoor environment. However in the case of inclement weather, we will cancel the outdoor option, and all indoor attendees will still be required to wear a mask.
Grace & Peace,
