The Royal Psalms

Features: Royal Psalms are noteworthy for their focus on the theme of kingship. The Royal Psalms fall into two categories: Psalms focused on the reign of God as King (47, 93, 97, 99), and Psalms focused on the human King of Israel (2, 20-21, 45, 72, 101, 110, 132). Many of these Psalms are directed towards enthronement or coronation. There is no one type of Royal Psalm, which is to say they do not have one particular form or pattern. Royal Psalms may be Hymns, Laments, Liturgies, and etc.
