Our gracious Lord multiplied His blessings to me in the five days I stayed in Cape Town for sightseeing after the church conference. I spent hours reveling in the natural beauty of mountains and beaches He created, aided by rides on a boat, a ferris wheel, and a cable car. In town, nearly everywhere I turned, my eyes feasted on manifold forms of art produced by people whom He made in His image to be creative. I pray that my home culture will grow in appreciation for paintings, sculptures, gardens, and all else that reflects God’s glory.
Animals fascinated me as well: wild penguins and baboons on the beach, sharks and jellyfish swimming in an aquarium, and life-sized dioramas in a natural history museum. At ethnic restaurants, I savored tastes from various countries where I’ve left dear friends. An elderly widow who served the Lord near where I work encouraged me with hours of her testimonies to His faithfulness. And the remarkable Jewish Museum evidenced blessings that came to even the tip of Africa through the descendants of God’s servant Abraham. May the joy with which my vacation filled me overflow in my ministry to those around me in Christ’s name.
