Valentines Day at New Hope HS

Valentines Day, we joined New Hope High School students for some cookie decorating.  Thank you to everyone who contributed supplies and/or came out to visit with the students.    At first thought, you might think high school students would not be interested in frosting and decorating cookies, like kids in elementary school.

However, they embraced the entire event!  We brought cookies and frosting and sprinkles, and they were able to step away from the pressures of school work and all their other challenges and just feel the love in the form of a yummy cookie. Several students made more than one cookie, and many of them made cookies for their classmates, parents or siblings.

It was a rare, beautiful, sunny day, so we even took cookie supplies outside for the students to relax and enjoy the event while outside.

These small gestures by our church are a simple reminder that these children are loved. This event and the event at Christmas are so appreciated by the students and the staff.
